Medical Director – Global Medical Services

About the role

IMG is seeking a hands‑on Medical Director to support the Group Chief Medical Officer in delivering safe, timely, and compassionate care across its worldwide insurance and assistance operations. The role is hybrid, based in Australia, and involves both office work and on‑call duties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership for international assistance, aviation and travel medicine, and health insurance services.
• Directly manage complex cases, document decisions, and coordinate with treating teams abroad.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, proactively assess patients, and escalate critical cases to the Group CMO.
• Advise commercial and underwriting teams on medical risks associated with new and existing insurance products.
• Travel periodically to IMG’s medical and operational hubs worldwide to support service development.

Required profile

• Medical degree with full registration to practice in Australia.
• Significant experience in travel, aviation, or international medical assistance.
• Ability to work independently, make clear clinical decisions, and collaborate across borders.
• Legally authorized to work in Australia; visa sponsorship is not available.
