Medical Affairs Director – Oncology

About the role

The Medical Affairs Director, Oncology will shape and execute the Medical Affairs strategy for all oncology products across Australia and New Zealand. This senior leader will drive launch readiness, ensure customer‑centricity, and champion operational excellence while leading a large, high‑performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Own and implement the ANZ Medical Affairs vision, aligning it with business objectives and patient needs.
• Lead MSL executional excellence, delivering high‑quality field medical engagement that meets compliance and stakeholder expectations.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with external stakeholders to understand needs and deliver value.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with marketing, sales, regulatory affairs and other teams to achieve business goals.
• Inspire, develop and manage large field and office‑based teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, agility and high performance.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead and influence diverse teams and functions.
• Deep understanding of the healthcare landscape with a patient‑centric mindset.
• Demonstrated Credo‑based leadership, ethical decision‑making and compliance focus.
• Strong strategic thinking, able to anticipate future needs and drive outcome‑focused strategies.

Required skills

• Medical Degree (MD), PhD or PharmD (mandatory).
• Experience leading high‑performing teams in a complex stakeholder environment.
• Track record of successful cross‑functional collaboration and strategic initiative delivery.
