Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join our design‑focused team in Sydney. You will work on large, technically complex commercial, education, health and data‑infrastructure projects across Australia and the Asia‑Pacific, delivering end‑to‑end mechanical design from concept to construction support.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver complex mechanical building services designs from concept through to construction support.
• Own mechanical design packages, ensuring quality, coordination and compliance.
• Provide technical input on HVAC system selection, load calculations and plant sizing.
• Act as a key technical and client‑facing contact, attending meetings and offering clear engineering advice.
• Support and mentor other engineers, contributing to technical assurance.
• Work across large, high‑performance projects and contribute to energy‑efficiency and optimisation initiatives.
• Support continuous improvement of design processes, standards and delivery approaches.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) and Engineers Australia Professional Membership.
• 3–5 years’ experience in mechanical building services engineering, preferably in construction or contracting.
• Proven track record delivering medium to large scale projects in commercial, education or health sectors.
• Full‑life‑cycle design experience from concept to construction documentation.
• Strong HVAC design capability, including system selection, load calculations and plant sizing.
• Sound knowledge of Australian Standards and NCC requirements.
• Proficiency with industry design tools such as Revit or CAMEL (or similar).
• Australian citizenship and current AGSVA Security Clearance or willingness to obtain one.
