Materials Engineering Intern

About the role

A host company in Sydney is looking for a Materials Engineering intern. The internship provides meaningful work experience with strong supervision in a supportive environment, and the company plans to offer permanent employment to the suitable candidate. The intern works at least 3 days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and select materials based on engineering requirements
• Conduct material testing and analyse performance results
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards and quality specifications
• Investigate material defects and recommend corrective actions
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement and quality control teams
• Maintain technical documentation and material inspection records

Required profile

• Student of a relevant degree or recent graduate
• Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or a related field
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Necessary technical and soft skills, and commitment to a career in the field
