Master (under 45m) – Marine Vessel Captain

About the role

Join the NRMA Marine team as a Master of vessels under 45 metres, working a 7‑day roster (predominantly weekends) to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations.

Key responsibilities

• Navigate and operate the vessel in compliance with maritime regulations and company guidelines.
• Maintain vessel systems, accurate paperwork, and oversee crew attendance and performance.
• Ensure passenger safety and satisfaction, manage security threats, and handle emergency situations.
• Lead crew training, drills, and compliance with safety management systems.

Required profile

• Current Master <45m licence (minimum).
• Current MED2 certification (minimum).
• Certificate of Local Knowledge (Port Jackson).
• Current First Aid Certificate and Medical Fitness Certificate.
• Working with Children’s Check.

Required skills

• Line handling and seamanship skills.
• Knowledge of Safety Management Systems.
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (desirable).
