Maritime Technical Operations Engineer

About the role

Anduril’s Maritime team is seeking a Maritime Technical Operations Engineer to join the Dive‑XL Field Operations group. The role involves deploying globally to support Anduril’s Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) platforms in demanding offshore environments.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy worldwide on various support vessels to operate and maintain customer‑fielded AUVs.
• Lead hands‑on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of AUVs and related subsystems.
• Act as the product expert for both on‑site and remote support, translating hardware, software, and networking issues into solutions.
• Coordinate with customers, engineering, and operations teams to resolve issues and ensure high satisfaction.
• Support test plan creation, execution, and provide feedback to accelerate system maturity.
• Develop and deliver training materials and documentation for customers and internal staff.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience operating at‑sea robotic systems, preferably in a customer‑support capacity.
• Strong problem‑solving ability in unstructured, hardware‑software‑networking environments.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 kg and work extended hours offshore.
• Eligibility for NV2 security clearance and willingness to travel ~75% of the time.

Required skills

• Extensive hands‑on experience with AUV maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Proficiency with Linux, command‑line interfaces, and software debugging.
• Knowledge of deck operations, ship‑based cranes, A‑frames, and AUV launch/recovery systems.
• Electronics troubleshooting and use of test equipment.
• Familiarity with subsea acoustic sensors, navigation, and communication systems.
