Manufacturing Manager

About the role

Boeing Aerostructures Australia is seeking multiple permanent Manufacturing Managers (DAKUMK) on day shift in Port Melbourne. You will be supported by the Senior Manufacturing Manager and will lead a diverse production team, develop plans to engage manufacturing teams and support staff, and help ensure asset reliability so that commercial airplane components can be delivered to support final assembly.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and lead a production team to achieve operational KPIs
• Ensure safety standards are met and maintained in the production area
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality
• Collaborate with other leaders to maintain the production operating rhythm
• Track production metrics and report performance to senior management
• Ensure the team is trained and equipped to meet production targets
• Maintain accurate production documentation and records

Required profile

• For internal candidates: at least one year of leadership experience (team leader, temp manager, large-scale cross-functional project or program management, or formal manager) or completion of the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership"
• Proven experience leading, coaching and supporting teams in a complex manufacturing or factory environment in a front-line managerial or supervisory role
• Ability to work cross-functionally with stakeholders to influence outcomes
• Strong communication, leadership, conflict management and negotiation skills

Required skills

• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ability to analyse data and make sound decisions based on it
