About the role
HammondCare Waratah Residential Care is looking for a warm and caring person who speaks Mandarin to offer conversation and companionship to an elderly resident. Visits last one hour each week or fortnight and bring comfort, connection and a sense of familiarity through shared language and friendly chat.
Key responsibilities
- Visit the resident once a week or fortnight for one hour, offering conversation and companionship.
- Share language and friendly chat to brighten the resident's day.
Required profile
- Speaks Mandarin.
- 18 years or older.
- An NDIS Worker Screening Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
Visits can be scheduled at a suitable time during the week, between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday, depending on availability. Interested applicants are contacted by phone or text, and then by email if needed; more information on volunteering is available on the HammondCare website.
