Manager - Privacy

About the role

As a Manager - Privacy you will lead a team of privacy professionals and shape the organisation's privacy, data protection and AI governance capabilities. You will work across technology, risk, legal and business teams to embed privacy obligations and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of privacy specialists, championing a culture of data protection and privacy awareness.
• Partner with business leaders to embed privacy‑by‑design principles into projects, processes and new technology initiatives.
• Oversee privacy incidents, notifiable data breaches, complaints and regulatory engagements, ensuring appropriate reporting and stakeholder management.
• Drive continual improvement of privacy frameworks, controls, policies and governance practices, and provide strategic advice on emerging privacy, security and AI risks.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualifications in law, risk, information security, data governance or a related discipline.
• Proven experience leading privacy and data protection programmes in a complex, regulated organisation.
• Strong knowledge of the Australian Privacy Act 1988, Notifiable Data Breaches Scheme and contemporary privacy obligations.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at all organisational levels.
