About the role
The Manager, Economic Inclusion and Carers leads the design, delivery and evaluation of evidence‑informed policy, strategy and programmes that improve economic inclusion and participation across Victoria. Reporting to the Director of Community Inclusion, Carers and Volunteers, the role sits on the Unit’s leadership team and supports key government priorities.
Key responsibilities
- Lead financial inclusion policy development and manage large, complex programmes with partners such as Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand.
- Oversee the Victorian Concessions Program and the whole‑of‑government Victorian Carer Strategy 2025‑2035, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct data analysis, modelling and strategic reform recommendations to enhance economic inclusion and carer support.
- Manage programme budgets, risks and performance reporting, including budget and Cabinet submissions.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement across the department, government and community organisations.
Required profile
- Demonstrated people‑management and leadership capability.
- Strong cultural awareness and ability to foster an inclusive, high‑performing team.
- Proven experience in policy development, programme management and evaluation within the public sector.
- Excellent judgment, autonomy and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
