Manager - East Coast People & Culture

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on People & Culture leader to drive strategic and operational HR initiatives across our East Coast mining and heavy‑earthmoving operations. Reporting to the Executive Manager – People & Culture, you will guide the employee lifecycle while leading a small, dedicated HR team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on employee relations, performance management and workplace matters.
• Lead end‑to‑end recruitment, workforce planning and onboarding processes.
• Support managers with leadership development and employee growth initiatives.
• Manage disciplinary, grievance and industrial relations matters.
• Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation, awards, enterprise agreements and company policies.
• Oversee HR systems, reporting, documentation and compliance requirements.
• Build strong relationships with business leaders to support operational outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement of HR processes and mentor team members.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years’ senior HR experience in mining, resources, heavy industry or a similar operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation, industrial relations and contemporary HR practices.
• Proven track record managing employee relations, recruitment and performance management.
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Analytical, problem‑solving and organisational strengths.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement.
• Current C‑class driver’s licence.
