Manager – Business & Tax Advisory (China Practice)

About the role

KPMG is seeking a Manager to lead its Business & Tax Advisory China Practice. You will act as a trusted advisor to China‑connected clients, delivering high‑quality tax and business advice while supporting the firm’s growth across Australia and globally.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of China‑connected clients, including mid‑market businesses, private groups, and foreign‑invested enterprises.
• Provide commercially focused advice on cross‑border tax, structuring and international operations.
• Lead end‑to‑end engagement delivery, covering scoping, budgeting, resourcing and technical review.
• Oversee tax compliance and reporting to ensure quality and regulatory adherence.
• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders such as CFOs, founders and boards.
• Identify and drive business development opportunities, supporting proposals and pitches.
• Collaborate across KPMG’s Australia, China and global network.
• Lead, coach and develop Consultants and Senior Consultants.
• Manage engagement performance, timelines, budgets and utilisation.
• Stay current on China‑related tax and regulatory developments and translate insights for clients.

Required profile

• Manager‑level experience in tax advisory or professional services.
• Strong background in international or China‑related tax.
• Proven stakeholder management and project delivery skills.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Commercial mindset with a focus on growth.
• Completed CA/CPA or equivalent qualification.
