Management Accountant

About the role

Forrestania Resources Ltd, a Western Australian gold company, is seeking a Management Accountant to join its Perth head office. It is a hands-on role in a small team, suited to someone who enjoys improving systems and processes and bringing strong commercial acumen to a fast-moving environment. The accountant will own core financial reporting, compliance, budgeting and commercial support, work closely with operational leaders and help build financial systems and controls.

Key responsibilities

• Month-end processing, including journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare and analyse monthly management reports
• Prepare weekly cash flow and monitor it
• Draft interim and annual financial statements under AIFRS and manage external audit programs
• Ensure GST (BAS), FBT and tax compliance
• Develop operational and capital budgets and forecasts
• Support financial modelling and KPI reporting
• Streamline and improve financial systems, policies and procedures
• Partner with operational leaders to improve commercial performance
• Guide Accounts Payable and Payroll, and provide ad hoc financial and commercial support

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified
• 3+ years' experience in a similar accounting role
• Recent mining operational experience
• Strong understanding of AIFRS
• Excellent time management, organisation and communication skills

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Pronto or similar ERP experience
