Management Accountant

About the role

The Management Accountant will provide accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysis for Edelman's Australian operations. You will work closely with client teams, operations, and senior leadership to deliver insights that improve profitability and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Coordinate annual budgeting and monthly forecasting, monitor revenue, expenses, utilisation and profitability.
• Partner with client service teams to improve financial performance and support project budgeting and pricing decisions.
• Analyse profitability by client, service line and business unit, develop dashboards and KPIs.
• Maintain strong internal controls, support audit requirements and process improvement initiatives.
• Optimise the use of Workday Financial Management and develop financial reports and dashboards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• CA or CPA qualified.
• 3–6 years of experience in management accounting or commercial finance.
• Experience in professional services, consulting, media, advertising or communications agencies is desirable.

Required skills

• Workday Financial Management (reporting, budgeting, forecasting, journal processing).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Power BI or Tableau (business intelligence tools).
