Maintenance Technician – Night Shift (C-Series Trains)

About the role

Join Alstom’s team in Nowergup, WA, maintaining the C‑Series train fleet. The role is a permanent night‑shift position reporting to the Project Manager and working alongside a collaborative team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and fault‑finding maintenance to ensure safe, reliable fleet operations.
• Follow work instructions, procedures and quality standards, delivering work to specifications and timeframes.
• Record maintenance activities, defects and progress in the maintenance management system.
• Support troubleshooting, diagnostics and breakdown response as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, workplace organisation and 5S housekeeping.
• Participate in ongoing training and multi‑skilling to support operational flexibility.
• Operate depot equipment and vehicles, including trainsets (training provided) and other plant where licensed.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements, promoting a Zero Harm and Zero Defect culture.

Required profile

• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, fault‑find and diagnose electrical and/or mechanical systems.
• Willingness to work a permanent night‑shift roster (6 pm – 6 am, 14‑day cycle).
• Ability to complete a CAT1 Rail Medical and operate/shunt rail vehicles within the depot.
• Legal right to work in Australia.
• WA A‑Grade Electrical Licence or Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent Australian qualification).

Required skills

• Electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
• Use of maintenance management systems for recording work.
• Operation of depot equipment and rail vehicles (training provided).
