Maintenance Technician: Electrical

About the role

A skilled Maintenance Technician Electrical is sought for the Maintenance team at an underground coal operation in Queensland, reporting to the Electrical Coordinator at Outbye. The role maintains and improves the reliability of electrical infrastructure and equipment supporting continuous mining operations, working with operations and maintenance personnel on safe, efficient and reliable production.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and fault-find electrical infrastructure and equipment
• Conduct planned preventative maintenance and statutory inspections
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults to minimise downtime
• Maintain, inspect and troubleshoot electrical equipment for gas drainage and gas monitoring systems
• Carry out statutory testing and maintenance of methane monitoring systems, intrinsically safe equipment and associated electrical infrastructure
• Support compliance with QLD Coal Mining legislation and electrical regulations, including audits, compliance inspections and continuous improvement activities
• Ensure the reliability of gas monitoring, communications and control systems, and support reliability improvement initiatives and equipment upgrades
• Complete maintenance records, statutory documentation and defect reports accurately, and participate in breakdown responses

Required profile

• Proven maintenance experience in an underground mine (coal preferred)
• Electrical trade qualified and licensed
• Demonstrated experience contributing to a team to meet set targets
• EEHA and HV competencies highly desirable
