Maintenance Supervisor - FIFO (Weipa)

About the role

Sodexo, a global leader in integrated facilities management, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for its Weipa operation, reporting to the Operations Manager. You will lead a skilled team delivering safe, reliable and efficient maintenance services, overseeing daily operations, planned and reactive works and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance so work is completed safely, efficiently and to specification
• Plan, schedule and prioritise preventative and corrective maintenance to minimise equipment downtime
• Lead, mentor and develop maintenance team members
• Inspect equipment and troubleshoot to resolve issues before they affect operations
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and compliance documentation
• Promote and enforce workplace health, safety and environmental standards
• Manage maintenance budgets and optimise resource allocation
• Coordinate contractors and specialist service providers
• Monitor performance and build relationships with operational stakeholders

Required profile

• Trade qualification in Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC or Carpentry
• At least 5 years supervising maintenance teams in an industrial, mining, facilities management or similar environment
• Previous FIFO or remote operational experience
• Strong knowledge of building maintenance systems and mechanical and electrical maintenance practices
• Leadership, communication and people management skills; strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety legislation and compliance

Required skills

• Planning and scheduling preventative maintenance programs
• Proficiency with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
• Analyse maintenance performance and implement continuous improvement
• Desirable: budget and contractor management, and exposure to Lean, Six Sigma or similar methods
