Maintenance Fitter – Manufacturing Plant

About the role
The Maintenance Fitter provides production support on plant machinery, handling breakdown troubleshooting, project implementation and continuous improvement within a 24‑hour manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Install, assemble and test new machinery, collaborating with OEM manufacturers for commissioning.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly, conduct root‑cause analysis on critical failures and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with production teams to minimise downtime and support safety, quality and operational improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, parts used and time spent, and ensure compliance with Australian Safety Standards.
Required profile
- 3‑5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Relevant trade qualification as a Fitter and Turner or similar.
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (desirable) and forklift licence (desirable).
- Team player with a proactive, self‑motivated attitude.
Required skills
- Mechanical troubleshooting and repair of production lines.
- Interpretation of technical drawings and manuals.
- Stock control of spare parts.
- Installation and commissioning of new equipment.
