A-Grade Maintenance Electrician

About the role

The A-Grade Maintenance Electrician provides production support on plant machinery, handling breakdown troubleshooting, project implementation and continuous improvement. The role works within a 24‑hour maintenance team, primarily on a morning shift.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and conveying systems.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability.
• Use the CMMS to raise, track, perform and close work orders accurately.
• Maintain key site services such as compressors, chillers and boilers.
• Drive continuous improvement of maintenance processes and minimise downtime.
• Install electrical systems and equipment in compliance with safety standards and support OEM commissioning.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, including PLC, SCADA and I/O systems.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections and manage permits, JSA, JSEA and SWMS documentation.
• Manage store spares inventory and coordinate contractor engagement on site.
• Document all maintenance activities in the CMMS and generate reports for data‑driven decisions.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience as a Maintenance Electrician in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proven experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS (e.g., SAP, Maximo).
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, automation systems and SCADA.
• Current A‑grade Electrical License and Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence.
• Commitment to safety and ability to conduct risk assessments.

Required skills

• Electrical troubleshooting and repair on production equipment.
• PLC logic programming and Siemens safety control logic.
• CMMS operation (SAP, Maximo or similar).
• Knowledge of Australian Safety Standards.
• Use of elevated work platforms.
