Maintenance Engineer

About the role

As a member of the on‑site maintenance execution team, you will provide first‑line investigations and repairs for equipment and service failures across plant utilities, manufacturing equipment and support facilities. The role also includes preventive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of assets in a GMP cleanroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain highly technical manufacturing equipment, plant utilities and facility systems within a GMP cleanroom environment.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance, routine monitoring and corrective maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and uptime.
• Respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms, equipment breakdowns and facility issues, conducting fault finding and repairs across mechanical, electrical and automation systems.
• Participate in engineering investigations, root‑cause analysis, reliability assessments and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities.
• Assist with quality deviation investigations and ensure maintenance work complies with GMP and QA requirements.

Required profile

• Diploma/Degree or Trade qualification in mechanical, electrical or automation; restricted electrical licence strongly preferred.
• 3+ years of hands‑on maintenance experience in pharmaceutical, hospital, food processing or related industry.
• Experience working with HVAC, steam and compressed‑air plant utilities.
• Experience in GMP cleanroom environments is advantageous.

Required skills

• Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Knowledge of PLCs, BMS, SCADA and other industrial automation systems.
• Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Understanding of Health, Safety and Environment (EHS) practices related to maintenance.
