Machine Operator - Panel Saw

About the role

A manufacturing and engineering business in Rowville, Victoria, specialising in the supply, fabrication and machining of engineering plastics, composites and specialised industrial materials, is hiring a Machine Operator for its panel saw. The role is full-time and casual, paid $38 per hour, and involves cutting sheet materials to customer specifications from job specifications and drawings.

Key responsibilities

• Operate panel saw machinery safely and efficiently
• Cut sheet materials to specified dimensions and set up machinery with the right cutting parameters
• Read and interpret job sheets, drawings and measurements
• Measure and inspect finished cuts, load and unload materials safely
• Minimise wastage, perform basic machine adjustments and troubleshooting
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area and follow WHS and quality procedures
• Complete production documentation and assist with general workshop duties

Required profile

• Previous panel saw operating experience (essential)
• Manufacturing, production or workshop experience
• Experience with plastics, composites, timber or sheet materials is highly regarded
• Reliable, hands-on, able to work independently and as part of a team

• Good numerical and measurement skills
