M365 Engineer

About the role

The M365 Engineer designs, develops and supports modern digital solutions centred on the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Planner, MS Forms and Viva) and the Power Platform. The role sits within APRA's Technology team, which builds, maintains and secures IT solutions aligned with the organisation's architecture, and spans design, build, integration and continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Build Power Apps, Power Automate flows and integrations to digitise and optimise business processes.
• Design and implement Azure services such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, App Services, Web APIs and event-driven integrations.
• Build secure, scalable integrations between M365, Dynamics 365 and other enterprise systems.
• Contribute to AI-enabled solutions using Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio and AI Foundry.
• Apply software engineering best practices: code quality, testing, security and performance.
• Take part in solution design, peer reviews and continuous improvement of engineering standards, and share documentation and knowledge.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship with eligibility to obtain a defence clearance through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.
• Proven experience as a software engineer in a Microsoft-centric environment.
• Owns and improves Microsoft 365 capabilities including Teams, SharePoint Online and OneDrive.
• Strong knowledge of SharePoint Advanced Management, Teams administration, Viva Engage, Planner and related services.
• Demonstrated experience building Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse).
• Solid experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, App Services, Web APIs and Entra ID.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery and DevSecOps / CI-CD practices.
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Full-stack or frontend development with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React.
• Interest in AI-driven development, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, Azure OpenAI and Microsoft Foundry.
