Lube Technician - Tier 1 Mining

About the role

Karlayura Personnel is recruiting Lube Technicians for ongoing, full-time positions with a tier 1 mining company on a continuous roster. The roster runs 4:3 and the pay is $60 per hour. First Nation and female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Complete scheduled bearing greasing and inspections on fixed plant equipment according to lubrication routes, work orders and site procedures.
• Inspect and service Perma automatic lubrication systems, including replacing cartridges and batteries and checking delivery points and lines.
• Collect, label and submit oil samples by approved methods and keep accurate maintenance records.
• Inspect lubrication components such as pumps, reservoirs, filters, breathers, hoses, tubing and fittings, and report leaks, blockages, damage and contamination.
• Carry out lubricant and filter change-outs; where trained and authorised, replace lubrication or hydraulic hoses, fittings and stainless steel tube assemblies.
• Maintain clean tools and equipment, prevent spills and cross-contamination, and follow site safety, isolation, permit and environmental requirements.

Required profile

• At least 12 months of experience in fixed plant lubrication maintenance or shutdowns.
• Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices, with experience in mining, processing or another heavy industry.
• Valid Australian driver's licence; a manual licence is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Bearing greasing, Perma lubrication systems and oil sampling are essential.
• Hydraulics and pneumatics experience is advantageous; experience with hydraulic hoses and fittings is highly desirable but not essential.
