Livestock General Hand

About the role

JBS Australia's Yambinya feedlot, located near Burraboi in NSW, is looking for a Livestock General Hand. The feedlot is part of JBS Australia's Southern Division, which operates the largest multi-species processing facility in Australia (beef, sheep and goats) and is expanding its operations. The role involves daily livestock handling and animal health support on an 8,000-acre property.

Key responsibilities

• Daily livestock handling, including stock movements, trough and pen cleaning and maintenance, and induction of incoming stock
• Diagnosing animal health symptoms and administering animal health treatments with accurate record keeping
• Maintaining compliance with JBS Australia policies, including WHS, HR, QA and animal welfare and environmental obligations

Required profile

• Previous experience working with livestock
• Access to suitable horses and tack
• Strong commitment to animal welfare, health and nutrition
• Ability to work well within a team and willingness to learn new skills
• Willingness to work a 10 on / 4 off roster, which may vary with season and weather
