Live-In Bar Attendant – Coastal Far North Queensland

About the role

A busy hospitality venue in Coastal Far North Queensland is looking for adaptable, reliable and independent Bar Attendants. The venue is a community hub with a public bar, restaurant, gaming lounge and a detached bottleshop. Split shifts are required, and the role is casual at HIGA Level 2 with an immediate start and a minimum 6-month commitment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve beverages in a busy public bar
• Process gaming transactions and payouts
• Handle cash and EFTPOS transactions
• Restock fridges and bar supplies, and keep the bar and service areas clean
• Take restaurant orders, provide table service, clear and reset tables
• Prepare coffees for breakfast and dinner service
• Assist in other departments and carry out other duties as directed by management

Required profile

• Previous bar and/or restaurant experience is essential
• Current Queensland RSA and RSG certificates required before starting
• Previous gaming experience highly regarded but not essential
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

• Strong cash-handling skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Positive attitude, professional presentation and reliable work ethic

What we offer

• Pay of $33.85 per hour Monday to Friday, $40.62 on Saturday and $47.39 on Sunday
• Accommodation at $78 per week in a room with shared bathroom, plus evening meals and a staff kitchen
