Lineworker (Distribution)

About the role

CitiPower and Powercor deliver electricity to 1.3 million Victorian customers through a network of poles and wires. As a Lineworker (Distribution) based in Kyneton, you will build, commission, operate and maintain overhead and underground distribution networks, including customer supply at service points. You will work in a field-based team, often away from home and in all weather conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of overhead and underground transmission and distribution systems
• Operating plant, tools and equipment for those works
• Locating and rectifying faults
• Installing and maintaining metering at customer premises
• Installing and maintaining overhead and underground services
• Managing work priorities and deciding how long tasks take and whether to attend client appointments

Required profile

• Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Distribution Overhead, or equivalent (mandatory)
• ESI Worker qualification, including VESI Rigging (mandatory for Victoria-based candidates)
• ESV Lineworker licence or eligibility to apply (mandatory)
• Heavy vehicle licence HR (mandatory)
• High voltage operating training or authority (mandatory)
• Interstate applicants must also provide evidence of qualification, statement of attainment, high-risk licences and a construction induction card

Out-of-hours fault work may be required, and employment is subject to a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing, reference checks and entitlement to work in Australia checks.
