Light Equipment Sales Representative

About the role

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) is looking for a Light Equipment Sales Representative based at its Dandenong branch. You will drive sales growth across Melbourne's Eastern Metro region, working with Hitachi's compact and light construction equipment. You will inherit an established customer base while developing new business in your territory.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow relationships with existing customers across Melbourne Metro East
• Identify new business through prospecting, networking and customer visits
• Conduct equipment demonstrations and provide tailored solutions
• Build long-term partnerships through service and support
• Maintain a strong sales pipeline and update opportunities in CRM systems
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity
• Achieve sales targets and contribute to the growth of the Victorian business
• Represent the Hitachi brand at industry events, trade shows and customer functions

Required profile

• Sales experience in construction equipment, earthmoving, machinery, transport, agricultural equipment, industrial products or a related industry
• Strong business development skills and a customer-first mindset
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work autonomously and manage your own territory
• Current and valid driver's licence
• Previous experience selling machinery, equipment or capital products is highly regarded; a strong sales background is also welcome
