Lifting Technician

About the role

Motion is seeking a dedicated Lifting Technician to join its Burnie team. You will be responsible for ensuring lifting equipment is safe, reliable, and compliant with Australian standards, while providing expert advice to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspections, testing, and certification of lifting gear such as chains, slings, hoists, and other equipment.
• Carry out repairs and routine maintenance to maintain optimal performance and safety compliance.
• Provide technical advice and support to customers on lifting solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and certifications.
• Ensure all work follows relevant Australian Standards and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Uphold strong workplace safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Can‑do attitude with a strong work ethic.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards for lifting equipment (e.g., AS 4991, AS 1418).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Commitment to safety and compliance.
