Lifestyle Worker - Aged Care

About the role

Anglicare Sydney is looking for a Lifestyle Worker for its Social Wellness Centre and Overnight Respite Cottage in Winmalee. This is a permanent part-time position of 15 hours per week, with the option to take on additional shifts, working a rotating roster across morning, afternoon and weekend shifts. The role supports older Australians' wellbeing, independence and quality of life through activities, social connection and personal support.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group lifestyle, leisure and recreational activities and encourage client participation in programs, events and social activities
• Provide personal care support where required and assist clients to stay connected to their community
• Build positive relationships with clients, families and carers
• Help plan, implement and evaluate lifestyle and recreational programs, including client assessments and care planning
• Transport clients to centre-based activities and outings and support them at community events
• Maintain accurate client records, support quality and compliance, and keep the workplace safe and clean

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a lifestyle worker in aged care, community care or similar settings
• Certificate III in Aged Care or Certificate IV in Leisure and Health
• Current C class driver's licence and ability to drive a twelve-seater bus
• 3+ years of experience facilitating group activities, outings or recreational programs and cooking skills

Preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of person-centred care principles
• Experience supporting people living with dementia or disability
• Knowledge of aged care standards and community care services
