Lifestyle Assistant - Casual

About the role

Benetas is recruiting a casual Lifestyle Assistant for its St Lawrence Court aged care home in Eaglehawk, Victoria. The role supports the 67 residents of the home to live independently and socially engaged, by developing meaningful activities that match their interests, preferences, goals and individual needs.

Key responsibilities

• Build genuine relationships with residents and their families to deliver person-centred lifestyle programs.
• Assess residents' social, cultural, spiritual, cognitive and recreational interests to design engaging activities.
• Facilitate programs that promote independence, wellbeing, social connection and community engagement.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, participation and outcomes, and help evaluate and improve programs.
• Promote positive attitudes towards ageing while supporting resident choice, dignity, rights and autonomy.
• Ensure activities meet aged care standards, organisational policies and resident-centred care principles.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them.
• Experience in aged care, community care, disability services or a similar customer-focused environment.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain one) and unrestricted working rights in Australia.
• Passion for supporting older people to stay independent and connected.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with residents, families, volunteers and colleagues.
• Person-centred approach with empathy, respect and commitment to resident choice and dignity.

What we offer

• $37.06 per hour plus 25% casual loading and superannuation.
