About the role

selectability, a not-for-profit charity focused on improving mental wellbeing and suicide prevention in regional Queensland, is looking for a life coach to join its team in Mackay. The role supports members of a Clubhouse, a peer-supported community for people living with mental illness, to set meaningful goals and move closer to where they want to be. It is a casual position.

Key responsibilities

• Help members set meaningful goals and close the gap between where they are and where they want to be.
• Work with members to develop the weekly programs and assist in the day-to-day operations of the Clubhouse.
• Foster a positive, supportive and motivating environment for personal growth.
• Collaborate with other professionals to provide holistic support and resources.
• Monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting coaching strategies as needed.
• Empower clients to build confidence, improve well-being and enhance their quality of life.

Required profile

• Great interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• A commitment to selectability's values and a professional approach.
• Experience in the mental health industry.
• Excellent communication skills, able to reach an isolated audience.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience (highly desirable).

Required skills

• Ability to read and play music (highly desirable)
• Nationally recognised First Aid and CPR certificate, or ability to obtain one
• Working with Children check (blue card), or ability to obtain one
• NDIS worker screening clearance, or ability to obtain one
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module "Quality, Safety & You" completion certificate
• Current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland driver's licence
• Roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance
