Level B Lecturer - Arts (Philosophy, History, Politics, Environmental Studies)

About the role

Monash University's Faculty of Arts at the Clayton campus in Melbourne is seeking early-career academics to join as Level B Lecturers. The positions are fixed-term for 3 years, with a strong possibility of a 1-year extension, and cover Philosophy (political and/or applied), History (environmental and/or Australian), Politics and International Relations (social policy), and Environmental Studies. The advertised pay is $123,138-$146,228 per year plus 17% employer superannuation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and expand a track record of refereed publications and competitive grant capture, including the new ARC Initiate Fellowships scheme.
• Design, coordinate and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate units.
• Lead lectures, tutorials and field excursions, and supervise Honours and postgraduate coursework and research students.
• Contribute to the academic life of the section and school through collaborative initiatives, service duties and engagement with external organisations.

Required profile

• A PhD in a relevant discipline.
• Proven commitment to scholarly research, including manuscript preparation, publications and willingness to seek external research funding.
• Demonstrated track record of tertiary teaching, curriculum development and student engagement.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with teams, students and external partners.
