Leisure & Activities Officer

About the role

Calvary Mirridong in Bendigo, VIC, is looking for a passionate Leisure and Activities Officer to join its team on a permanent part-time basis. You will help enhance the quality of life of residents by coordinating and delivering engaging leisure and lifestyle programs. Both short-term fixed-term and permanent part-time opportunities are available.

Key responsibilities

• Respect each resident's individual character, personality and right to independence so they can continue an enjoyable, healthy and productive lifestyle.
• Develop formal and informal activity programs designed to improve and maintain the quality of life of residents.
• Provide social and recreational programs that meet the needs of residents.

Required profile

• Certificate IV Leisure & Lifestyle or another relevant qualification.
• Current First Aid certificate.
• Experience planning, implementing and evaluating activities and programs for frail people with cognitive impairment and other disabilities.
• Ability to document assessments, care plans and progress notes to meet legislative, funding and quality improvement requirements.
• Ability to work with people of all ages and cognitive abilities and to earn their trust and cooperation.
