Personal Care Worker

About the role

Calvary Aged Care is looking for Personal Care Workers to join its team at Calvary Mirridong in Bendigo, Victoria. The position is a 9-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave, and permanent part-time roles are also available. The role supports residents to live the life they choose, exercising choice and independence.

Key responsibilities

• Support residents to live the life they choose, allowing them to exercise choice and independence
• Assist residents in one-on-one activities that support their well-being, including hobbies and interests aligned to the care plan
• Contribute to the physical, emotional and lifestyle needs of residents through assessment and observation
• Deliver personal care tasks such as daily hygiene (showering, shaving, dressing), mouth and eye care and continence management
• Assist residents who need help with mobility, as per the care plan

Required profile

• Certificate Level III (Individual Support)
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role in aged care, health care or hospitality
• Effective written and verbal interpersonal communication
• Ability to prioritise workloads

Required skills

• Working knowledge of WH&S and infection control
