Legal Intelligence Lead

About the role

HWL Ebsworth Lawyers is creating a new Legal Intelligence Lead role, reporting to the Head of Legal and Digital Intelligence, Simon Hill. You will take ownership of a key part of the firm's Knowledge & Digital Intelligence strategy, helping build practical, scalable approaches to knowledge management, legal research and information governance so lawyers have access to trusted, high-quality information and AI-ready knowledge assets. It is a national role, with Melbourne (preferred) or Sydney.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver key components of the firm's Knowledge & Technology Strategy.
• Lead the development, governance and continuous improvement of precedents, templates and legal know-how.
• Drive the capture, curation and governance of legal knowledge across practice groups.
• Oversee legal research services, subscriptions and information resources.
• Manage the intranet, knowledge repositories and document standards.
• Support and train lawyers in the use of knowledge systems and tools.
• Partner with stakeholders to improve how legal knowledge is shared, maintained and used.
• Partner with the Digital Intelligence team on AI-enabled knowledge initiatives and information governance.

Required profile

• Experience in knowledge management, legal operations, legal innovation, legal technology, legal research or a related discipline.
• Track record of improving processes, systems and user experience.
• Interest in information governance, knowledge systems and the role of AI in legal practice.
• Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
• Comfortable in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
