Legal Counsel – Senior Commercial Lawyer

About the role

Axiom is seeking a senior commercial legal professional to support a leading Australian technology and digital solutions organisation. The role partners closely with business stakeholders to provide pragmatic legal advice on complex commercial matters, technology‑driven transactions, and key customer engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as trusted legal adviser to the commercial sales function, supporting the full lifecycle of complex transactions.
• Draft, review and negotiate sophisticated commercial agreements, balancing legal risk with business objectives.
• Tri­age and resolve a broad range of legal and commercial issues, delivering solutions‑oriented advice in a fast‑paced environment.
• Advise on complex technology and IT‑related matters for high‑value enterprise customers.
• Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders—including Sales, Product and Leadership—to ensure commercially sound outcomes and regulatory compliance.
• Manage a dynamic portfolio of matters, exercising sound commercial judgment to support a high‑performing sales organisation.

Required profile

• Strong commercial legal experience with proven ability to manage complex contracting matters.
• Demonstrated capability in negotiating sophisticated agreements and providing pragmatic, business‑aligned advice.
• Experience in technology, IT, telecommunications or similar enterprise environments is highly desirable.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the confidence to partner with senior business leaders.
