Legal Counsel – Funds Management

About the role

An experienced legal professional is needed to join a leading investment management group’s Legal and Company Secretarial team. The role involves providing legal and regulatory advice on investment products and corporate operations, including AFSL obligations and regulator engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on fund structuring, establishment and operations across multiple asset classes.
• Support innovative investment products and provide technical input on regulatory questions, especially for investment trusts.
• Conduct service provider due diligence and prepare ASIC and ASX submissions.
• Draft and review constitutions, PDSs, IMAs and other legal documentation.
• Advise on internal governance, corporate structuring and policy development.
• Manage leasing, IT, insurance and procurement agreements.
• Handle disputes and litigation as required.

Required profile

• 7+ years post‑qualification legal experience in funds management, financial services or a top‑tier law firm.
• Strong knowledge of funds management regulations, AFSL frameworks and ASIC/ASX requirements.
• Proven ability to engage with regulators and advise senior executives.
