Legal Counsel – Commercial Contracts & Data Privacy (Remote)

About the role

Future Secure AI is seeking a Legal Counsel to lead commercial contract negotiations, ensure data‑privacy compliance, and guide AI governance across its fast‑growing business. This remote‑first position will be the primary legal voice in strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and manage commercial contracts from inception to execution.
• Advise the company on data‑privacy obligations and AI governance requirements.
• Provide real‑time legal input during business decision‑making.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and sales teams to mitigate legal risk.

Required profile

• 5+ years post‑qualification experience, admitted to practice in New Zealand and/or Australia.
• Strong background in commercial contracts.
• Solid grounding in data‑privacy law.
• Prior experience at a top‑tier private practice firm.
• Experience in technology, AI, or SaaS environments is a plus.
