Legal Counsel – Architecture & Design Firm

About the role

Woods Bagot is seeking an experienced lawyer to join its established legal team. The role will support the Australia, New Zealand and Middle East regions, providing commercial and regulatory advice across a variety of high‑profile design and construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Review, negotiate and draft commercial contracts, including consultancy, design and construction agreements across sectors such as health, education, aviation, transport and infrastructure.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies.
• Provide legal guidance on contract law, employment law, privacy, intellectual property, dispute resolution and management of legal proceedings.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and act as a commercially‑focused legal partner.
• Contribute to the development of legal processes, best practices and strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with several years of experience in commercial and corporate law.
• Ability to work in or relocate to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or Adelaide.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to advise senior leaders.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and capable of handling complex, multi‑jurisdictional matters.
