Legal Counsel – APAC

About the role

The Legal Counsel (APAC) provides commercially focused legal support to The IRONMAN Group across Australia, New Zealand and key Asian markets. You will partner with operational, commercial, marketing, technology and finance teams while coordinating with global legal and compliance functions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely, solutions‑oriented legal advice to business teams across Oceania and Asia, balancing risk with commercial objectives.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including sponsorship, event services, technology, employment and media contracts.
• Advise on consumer law, privacy and data protection matters, and support regional intellectual property issues.
• Support corporate and M&A work, develop legal templates and improve workflow processes.

Required profile

• LLB, JD or equivalent legal qualification with admission to practice in Australia or New Zealand and a current unrestricted practising certificate.
• Minimum four years post‑qualification experience in corporate and commercial law, preferably in‑house or private practice.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills with a pragmatic, business‑focused approach to risk.
