Legal Assistant

About the role

As a Legal Assistant at GO Markets, you will provide practical legal, administrative and governance support to the Directors across the organisation. You will work on disputes, regulatory matters, contracts, legal research and the preparation of legal documents and correspondence in a fast‑moving financial services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare legal documents, submissions, chronologies, witness materials and hearing books for disputes and regulatory matters.
• Collate evidence, support discovery and redaction, prepare briefs for external counsel and manage subpoenas, settlement documents and regulatory requests.
• Research legislation, regulatory guidance, case law and AFCA determinations; draft routine agreements and conduct first‑pass contract reviews.
• Maintain dispute registers, key dates and the AFCA portal; update contracts and compliance registers.
• Coordinate reviews of client‑facing documents, assist with board papers, minutes, resolutions and ASIC forms.
• Support the Compliance Team with KYC, ECDD reviews, risk assessments, monitoring activities and regulatory lodgements, including AUSTRAC reporting.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a legal, paralegal, graduate legal or compliance support role, preferably within a regulated environment.
• A completed Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent qualifying law degree.
• Understanding of, or willingness to learn, the Corporations Act, AML/CTF Act, ASIC regulatory guides and AFCA processes.
• Ability to conduct legal research and prepare accurate memoranda.
