Lecturer (Theatre)

About the role

UniSQ is seeking an innovative Lecturer in Theatre to deliver high‑quality teaching, conduct impactful research and engage with the community across its Bachelor of Theatre and Master of Education programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, student‑centred teaching in face‑to‑face and blended modes, using digital technologies.
• Conduct research that produces high‑quality outputs, attracts funding and contributes to the field of Theatre.
• Support research teams, mentor higher‑degree by research (HDR) students and contribute to internal service.
• Engage in professional development and maintain currency in contemporary teaching and research approaches.

Required profile

• Doctoral or master’s qualification (or equivalent accreditation) in Theatre or a related discipline.
• Professional/industry experience in acting, directing or producing, and demonstrated teaching expertise.
• Proven ability to deliver reflective scholarly teaching that enhances student outcomes and employability.
• Experience in research collaboration, funding acquisition and knowledge advancement.

Required skills

• Expertise in acting methodologies, theatrical directing and producing.
• Ability to design and deliver curriculum for diverse learning contexts, including regional and remote settings.
