About the role

HammondCare, an independent Christian charity that runs the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, is looking for a Lebanese-speaking volunteer to visit an older person living in its dementia-specific cottage. Through regular visits, the volunteer shares conversation, cultural connection and social engagement, helping to reduce isolation and improve quality of life.

Key responsibilities

Spend time chatting and providing companionship
Share language, culture and life experiences
Encourage social connection and engagement
Build a warm and trusting friendship
Visit once a week for one hour, Monday to Friday, either at 10:00am or between 1:00pm and 3:00pm, in the dementia-specific cottage

Required profile

18 years or older
Fluent Lebanese speaker
NDIS Worker Screening Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
