Leading Hand / Tipper Driver

About the role

Heidelberg Materials Australia is recruiting a Leading Hand / Driver for its Lavington plant, near Albury-Wodonga on the NSW/Victoria border. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the role combines driving with day-to-day operational leadership, helping the team deliver products safely and efficiently. It is a full-time position with a 5-day week and rostered Saturday work.

Key responsibilities

• Drive reliable, well-maintained equipment and deliver quarry products to customers
• Provide day-to-day leadership and support to the driving team
• Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example
• Help coordinate workloads and operational requirements
• Support the Plant Manager in meeting operational and safety objectives

Required profile

• Current HC or MC licence (essential)
• Previous leadership or team coordination experience
• Experience driving truck and dog combinations (preferred)
• Loader experience is advantageous but not essential
• Current Construction Card / White Card
• Good understanding of the transport industry and chain of responsibility
• Strong safety focus, results-oriented and able to communicate with team members and customers
