Leading Hand: Mechanical (Fixed) – FIFO

About the role

Gold Fields is hiring a Leading Hand: Mechanical (Fixed) reporting to the Supervisor – Mechanical (Fixed). You will supervise the effective execution of mechanical maintenance on site so that budgeted production targets are met while meeting quality, cost, safety and environmental standards. The role is offered on a FIFO roster from Perth.

Key responsibilities

• Comply with OHS and environmental standards and evaluate risks and hazards before each task.
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance team, including contractors, and make sure they know their tasks, targets and access to tools.
• Ensure the team applies effective preventative maintenance through scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting and timely repairs.
• Help train, develop and coach the team, and contribute to business and cultural improvement initiatives.
• Keep production running with quick access to critical parts and equipment, and help set proactive maintenance plans and shutdown programs.
• Report safety, environmental hazards, incidents, damage, breakdowns and potential stoppages to a supervisor as soon as possible.

Required profile

• Australian recognised trade qualification.
• Statutory Supervisor Schedule 26.
• Prior experience operating and maintaining a mineral processing plant.
• Proven leadership experience.
• Manual WA C driver's licence.

Required skills

• SAP work management system or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office.
