Leading Hand – Civil Construction

About the role

Rokon is seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join its civil construction team on projects throughout Melbourne. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will help ensure safe, on‑time, and high‑quality delivery of infrastructure works.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on‑site teams, contributing to safe and successful project delivery.
• Follow and enforce all safety policies; conduct toolbox and pre‑start meetings as required.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of project specifications, plans, technical drawings, permits and council requirements.
• Support the Site Supervisor in meeting productivity, budget and quality targets.
• Coordinate plant, material, and both internal and external human resources on site.
• Ensure effective site operations in the Site Supervisor’s absence.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years experience as a Leading Hand in the civil construction sector.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong planning and organisational abilities.
• Positive, proactive, can‑do attitude with self‑motivation.
• High personal and professional work standards and willingness to learn.
• Keen interest in progressing a career in operations management.
• All relevant industry tickets and licences, including an OH&S induction (white) card.
• Ability to complete a pre‑employment medical assessment.
