Lead Systems Administrator

About the role

Lead and continuously improve INTREC’s ICT operations, networking and cyber‑security posture across head office, satellite branches and construction sites. You will combine hands‑on technical depth with people‑first leadership to ensure secure, reliable access to SaaS tools for all employees.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day ICT service desk responsiveness, set SLAs and mentor junior administrators.
• Design, deploy and maintain LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN and SD‑WAN links for head office, depots and temporary project sites.
• Administer firewalls, switches and routing with focus on uptime, performance and security.
• Run phishing simulations, vulnerability scans and patch‑management cycles in line with ISO 27001.
• Architect and maintain MFA and automated lifecycle provisioning (SCIM/SAML/OIDC) across SaaS platforms.
• Administer Procore, Hammertech, CAT Digital, Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Intune) and mobile MDM.
• Deliver rapid remote support via Freshdesk and LogMeIn; build “site‑in‑a‑box” kits with 4G/5G routers and rugged APs.
• Manage hardware/software asset registers, licence renewals and the annual ICT budget.
• Act as primary engagement point for ICT vendors, MSPs and telecom providers; prepare monthly KPI and risk reports for the CIO.

Required profile

• 5+ years ICT support/administration experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or team‑lead role.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent TAFE Diploma/Advanced Diploma.
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical issues for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proactive problem‑solver comfortable in fast‑moving construction environments.

Required skills

• Networking: TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS, Wi‑Fi design, site‑to‑site VPNs, SD‑WAN, firewall rule‑sets.
• Cyber‑security: Essential Eight, ISO 27001, phishing simulations, vulnerability scanning, patch management, EDR, SIEM.
• Microsoft 365 / Azure AD (Entra ID) administration, Intune, MFA, SCIM/SAML/OIDC.
• Construction SaaS: Procore, Hammertech, CAT Digital (or similar).
• Remote support tools: Freshdesk, LogMeIn, RMM, MDM, LTE/5G backup links.
• Certifications: CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Security+, Okta Certified Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, ITIL v4 (desirable).
