Lead Software Engineer Web

About the role

ING is hiring a Lead Software Engineer in Sydney to deliver innovative digital banking solutions for customers across Australia. Reporting to the Chapter Lead, you will work within Scrum teams and help drive engineering excellence, mentoring developers and championing Agile and Continuous Delivery practices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from ideation and design through to delivery and production support.
• Design, build and maintain secure, scalable, high-performing solutions across the technology stack.
• Develop clean, maintainable, well-tested code using modern engineering and automated testing practices.
• Drive quality, engineering standards and continuous improvement in line with ING's Agile and Continuous Delivery ways of working.
• Mentor and coach engineers, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, ownership and professional growth.
• Communicate progress, risks and outcomes to stakeholders and champion Agile, security-by-design and engineering best practices.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software development experience, including technical leadership of large-scale applications and projects.
• Proven expertise in modern web development with a strong focus on user experience and accessibility.
• Experience delivering secure, scalable solutions across the full technology stack.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with a continuous learning mindset.

• JavaScript, HTML, CSS and web components, with responsive design.
• Automated testing, CI/CD, DevOps and source control.
• Agile ways of working.
