Lead Civil Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Civil Engineer to drive the delivery of land development and civil infrastructure projects in Melbourne. In this senior position you will combine technical expertise with project leadership to guide designs from concept through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver land development and civil infrastructure projects across design and construction phases.
• Manage the preparation of civil engineering designs, drawings and documentation.
• Provide technical leadership on industrial subdivisions, roads, drainage, earthworks, municipal works, water and sewer reticulation, and civil site works.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, authorities, sub‑consultants and contractors.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their professional growth.
• Ensure designs comply with Australian and Victorian standards, council requirements and authority approvals.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Accreditation under Part A & B Water Supply and Sewer Design Assurance Scheme (MRWA).
• Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork and self‑motivation.
• Experience designing civil infrastructure to Australian and Victorian standards.
• Proven experience liaising with clients, sub‑consultants and contractors.
• Background in roads, carparks, earthworks, drainage, water and sewer utility services, pavement design.
• Experience in the construction phase of civil infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of council, service authority and DTP requirements.
