Laundry Worker - Truck Driver

About the role

IMPACT Community Services is looking for a Laundry Worker - Truck Driver for its New iMAGE Laundry in Bundaberg. This is a full-time role that combines running the laundry truck to collect and deliver laundry to customers with working on the laundry floor when not on a truck run.

Key responsibilities

• Complete scheduled delivery runs, collecting and delivering laundry safely, efficiently and within agreed timeframes.
• Operate the laundry truck safely and in line with Queensland road rules, licence requirements and company vehicle safety policies.
• Load, unload and transport linen safely, using correct manual handling techniques and keeping clean and soiled linen separate.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report defects, damage, incidents or safety concerns to the Laundry Manager.
• Manage delivery records, including counting items, completing run sheets and obtaining customer sign-off where required.
• Provide professional customer service and manage delivery issues while following safe driving and fatigue management practices.
• Process garments and linen through the laundry cycle, track customer items accurately, operate and maintain laundry and ironing equipment, and present garments well.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment.

Required profile

• Current Queensland MR, LR or HR driver licence with a safe driving record and confidence operating delivery vehicles.
• Knowledge of safe loading, unloading and load restraint practices, with a strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Experience operating laundry equipment and machinery, including the safe handling of laundry chemicals.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work such as repetitive lifting, pushing and pulling of laundry bags, cages and trolleys.
• Reliable, able to follow instructions, work under pressure and meet delivery and production deadlines.
